In the video Mr. Peters explained how the American auto industry lost its dominance of the market to Japanese automakers because of a difference in ideology. American automakers chose to design and build vehicles they wanted to sell to the public, without consulting consumers to see what kind of vehicles they wanted to buy. On the other hand, the Japanese automakers invested a lot of time in consulting with consumers to determine what they wanted, and that is what they produced.
That profound revelation had a tremendous impact on me and influences me to this day in all of my business dealings.
